I plan Meetup Hikes / Walks for The Hamilton & Area Hiking Meetup Group and The Snail's Pace Walk'N Talk The GTA ( ages 30's to 80's ++ ), and other Events for other Groups in the GTA Area. I would like to offer this exciting river adventure to our Members. The Credit River has alot of history. The First Nation Mississaugas, fished, hunted,and harvested maple syrup and wild rice. they were also fur traders, and well known for meeting their credit obligations. The river where they traded, came to be called the Credit River. Book a trip with Kayak the Credit, and enjoy a pre-trip lesson followed by an exciting guided kayak trip on the stunning Credit River. You will experience nature, slow and fast moving water is included so be prepared to get wet. ( Suitable shoes you don't mind getting wet are recommended ). Only about 30 minute drive from Toronto / Hamilton Area. Please Note!. It is your responsibility to book your space, on this fun to do summer river trip. Meet Time: 2.00 - 2.30 pm. Start Time: 2.30 pm. ( Appox. duration with Kayak the Credit = 4 hours ). Where: Start in Brampton. Finish in Mississauga. Trip Includes: One kayak lesson, river guide, use of kayak, paddle, PFD, helmet, Shuttle Bus to our starting point, a little bit of history & an awesome adventure!. It will be one of the highlights of your summer. It is suggested you bring the following items with you for this river trip. Bathing suit, sandals or running shoes, light wool or synthetic sweater. light windbreaker, quick drying shorts & / or top, towel, sun block, hat, a change of dry clothes, & water, snacks.It is not recommended a camera, unless it is waterproof. There is a good possibility of things getting wet. If some reason you fall into the river, no need to worry, many parts on the river are less than 2 ft. deep. You just stand up. Directions: From Toronto / Hamilton. Take the QEW. to Mississauga Rd in Mississauga. Exit. No. 130. Follow the signs to Mississauga Rd. North. Follow Mississauga Rd North. into Streetsville. Please Note! Mississauga Rd. will become Queen St. when start to come into Streetsville Village. Look for the Vic Johnson Arena & Community Centre Small Sign. Turn Right onto Church St., from Queen St. S.. Just go down the hill. You will see the Arena & Park on your Right. Please be on time for your fun time on the Credit River. Refreshments at a Pub, after the trip. See you there.
